posted on 25.04.12 President Obama Drives A Sphero!

I was pumped to see Pres. OBama, while in Boulder yesterday, take a moment to drive a Sphero!  I’ve had a long working relationship designing all the drive controllers and initial game apps as well as the app Obama uses here!

The president used an app I designed.  HA!  Too cool…

posted on 15.03.11 Mashable SXSW Geek Games - Sphero Geek Ball iPad

SXSW interactive is wrapping up today in Austin.  I had the chance to design a Sphero Geek Ball bowling app as part of Mashable’s Geek Games. The 64 teams of two to five players will participate in a single-elimination tournament of head-to-head matches in Twister, shuffleboard, trivia, Geek Ball bowling and more.

The app I worked on was a ball flick controller on the iPad that was used to send the Sphero down the table toward Pepsi Max bottle pins.  The ball supported an arch and flick speed to make an awesome tabletop game!

I recently had the opportunity to work with Orbotix on the app user interface for their first product Sphero.  The robotic controlled ball is just the begging for the Boulder based startup whose open-source API will allow mobile developers to make their own games with Sphero and other smartphone controlled hardware.  Our wheels are turning!
